The Doer Life turns sermons into confessions, prayers, and simple steps you can act on. This page explains what we collect, why, who else handles it, and how you can delete it. We've tried to keep it plain.

What we collect

Account details: your name, email address, and a hashed (not readable) version of your password.

Plan and usage: which plan you're on, how many sermons used AI each month, and, if you subscribe to Premium, when it runs until and the customer and subscription references Paystack gives us. We never see or store your card details.

Things you create or upload: notes you write, text you paste, YouTube links you submit, audio you upload or record (including recorded sermons), photos you add to a sermon, the transcripts, summaries, and scripture lists generated from them, your personal notes on a sermon, any folders you create to group sermons, and the plans generated for you (confessions, prayer points, action steps, reflections, and any study material), plus which action steps you've completed.

Your practice and reflections: how many times you mark a confession or prayer as said, the journal responses you write, which badges you've earned, and, if you choose to share it, a short note about what's going on in your life right now (your "season"). Translations of a sermon's summary or transcript are stored with that sermon.

How you use the app: which screens you open, when you were last active, and key moments such as signing up, adding a sermon or generating a plan, plus how much AI each request used. This helps us understand what's working and keep AI costs in check. It never includes what you wrote.

Reminders: if you turn on daily reminders, we store the push subscription details your browser gives us so we can send them, which kinds of notification you want, and a record of each notification we sent you and whether you opened it.

On your device: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and a small amount of local browser storage (for example your day streak). We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

To run the app: sign you in, generate your plans and transcripts, save your notes and history, and send the reminder you asked for. We look at usage in aggregate to improve the app; we don't read your notes, transcripts, journal or prayers to do it. We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.

Who else handles your data

We rely on a few providers to operate the service:

  • Our AI provider: the text, audio, or video you submit is processed by an AI service to produce transcripts, plans, study material, and translations. If you shared your season, it is included, lightly, when a plan is written.
  • Vercel: hosts the app and stores uploaded and recorded audio (privately) in Vercel Blob.
  • Neon: hosts the database that holds your account, notes, plans, and transcripts.
  • Paystack: processes Premium payments. Your card or bank details go straight to Paystack; we only keep your email and the payment and subscription references it gives us.

Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy policy. Only submit content you're comfortable sending to them.

Recordings of other people

If you record or upload a sermon given by someone else, you're responsible for having permission to do so from the speaker and, where needed, the church or organization.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete individual notes, sermons, plans, and folders at any time (deleting a sermon also deletes its stored audio and photos, and you can delete a single photo; deleting a folder just unfiles the sermons in it). To remove everything, go to Settings → Delete account; this permanently deletes your account, notes, plans, sermons, folders, badges, transcripts, photos, stored audio, and usage history. A record of how much AI was used and payment amounts is kept without your name, for our accounts. Audio you upload to generate a plan is removed from our storage once the plan is created. Our providers may keep temporary copies for a short period under their own policies (our AI provider, for example, retains uploaded files for a limited time).

Security

Passwords are hashed, sessions use a secure cookie, and audio is stored privately. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Children

The Doer Life isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

AI-generated content

Plans, transcripts, and study material are produced by AI and can contain mistakes, including misquoted scripture. Please check anything important against your own sources. It isn't pastoral, spiritual, legal, or professional advice.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
